Prom 2027: why the date matters more than the vehicle
Prom season across our area lands in the last week of June and the first week of July. Every school finishes on the same evening it finished last year, so the same handful of Fridays are asked for by hundreds of groups at once. We own ten vehicles, and no amount of goodwill creates an eleventh on the night.
Autumn: the smart time
Groups who book between September and Christmas get the vehicle they actually want, on the date they actually need, at the price on the quote. Deposits hold the date; the balance is not due until nearer the time.
Spring: still possible
By Easter the pink Hummer is usually gone for the busiest Fridays, but the white stretch, the GMC Typhoon and the party buses often have space. Ask, and we will tell you straight what is left.
June: the phone rings
Every year we turn groups away in June. If your prom is on a peak Friday and you are reading this in June, call rather than email, because the answer changes by the hour.

Tell us the school. We have done most of them, and we usually know the date before the letter goes out. A provisional hold costs nothing.
What you get on the night
One booking per vehicle
Unlike most limo firms in prom season, we take one booking per vehicle per evening. Your group is not the second pick-up of the night, nobody is waiting on another school, and there is no rush at either end.
Photos at the pick-up
The vehicle arrives early enough for photographs on the driveway with parents, friends and the car, before anyone gets in. Parents tell us this is the bit they remember.
A one-hour cruise
A full hour on the road before the venue, lights on, music on, soft drinks on ice, so the limo ride is part of the evening rather than a ten-minute transfer.
The arrival
We pull up when the doors are open and the crowd is there, the chauffeur opens the doors, and the vehicle stays put until the photographs are done. That is the entrance you booked for.
Soft drinks only, seatbelts always
Prom bookings are under-18 bookings. We stock soft drinks, not alcohol, every seat has a belt, and our drivers are DBS checked. Parents are welcome to meet the driver at pick-up.
Which vehicle for prom
The right answer is the one that fits the whole group in one go. Sixteen is the most any single vehicle of ours carries; bigger groups take two.
Pink Hummer, 16 seats
The prom vehicle. Books out first for peak Fridays every year.
White stretch Hummer, 16 seats
Same size, same interior, in white. The one lads’ groups tend to pick.
GMC Typhoon stretch, 8 seats
Hummer looks for a group of eight, and easier on narrow school approaches.
Lincoln MKT stretch, 8 seats
The classic black limo. Understated, and usually the last to sell out.
Party buses, 8, 12 and 16 seats
Everyone facing each other, lights and music up. Popular with groups who want the journey to be the party.
Hummer H2, 4 seats
For a group of four who want a Hummer without the stretch.
Leavers’ parties too, not just Year 11
Prom is the big one, but we do the same job for Year 6 leavers, sixth-form and Year 13 leavers’ balls, and end-of-exams nights out.
Year 6 leavers
A party bus or the pink Hummer for a primary-school class, parents on board or following behind, soft drinks and balloons, a lap of town and back to the party. See children’s parties for how we run under-12 bookings.
Year 11 prom
The classic. Pick-up at home, photographs, the cruise, the arrival. Usually the stretch Hummers or a 16-seater bus so the whole group travels together.
Year 13 and sixth-form balls
Often a hotel or country-house venue and a later finish. Over-18 groups can have the bar stocked; we ask for ID for the booker.
Results night and end of exams
Into Milton Keynes, Northampton or London for the night. Priced like any other night out, from £295.

What prom limo hire costs
Hire starts from £295. A prom quote depends on the vehicle, the date, the distance from Arlesey and how long you want the vehicle. Peak prom Fridays cost more than a Tuesday in May, and a 16-seat Hummer costs more than an 8-seat limo. Split between the group, most prom bookings work out at less than the cost of the outfit.

The questions parents ask us
When should we book for prom 2027?
As soon as you know the date, and ideally before Christmas. Peak Fridays in late June and early July go first, and the pink Hummer is usually the first vehicle to sell out.
How many can travel in one vehicle?
Sixteen in either stretch Hummer or the 16-seater party bus, twelve in the Mercedes bus, eight in the Lincoln, the GMC Typhoon or the 8-seater bus, and four in the Hummer H2. Those are licensed seated figures with belts, and we do not exceed them.
Is there alcohol on board?
Not for prom bookings. We stock soft drinks for under-18 groups. Over-18 leavers’ groups can have the bar stocked with ID from the booker.
Are your drivers checked?
Yes. Every Starlite chauffeur is employed by us and DBS checked. Parents are welcome to meet the driver at pick-up, and the driver will text when they are ten minutes away.
Can we share the vehicle with another group?
No, and that is deliberate. One booking per vehicle per night means your group is not waiting on anyone else’s timings.
Do you collect us afterwards?
If you want us to. Most prom bookings are one-way with parents collecting, but a return can be added, and some groups book the bus on to a house party afterwards.
Can we decorate the vehicle or choose the lighting colour?
Yes to both. Tell us school colours or a theme and we will set the cabin lighting to match; balloons and banners are welcome as long as nothing is stuck to the paintwork.
What if the prom date changes?
Tell us as soon as the school tells you. If we have the vehicle free on the new date we simply move the booking.
