Four Hummers, and they are genuinely different vehicles
Most companies advertising Hummer hire have one, or have none and will find you one. We have four, and which one suits you depends far more on your group than on your budget.
Pink Hummer H2 Stretch, 16 passengers
The flagship. A full-length stretched H2 in pink with pink alloys, an LED-lit cabin, bar and sound system. It is the vehicle people book when the arrival is part of the occasion, proms, milestone birthdays, hen nights. It is also the one that books out first for the peak Fridays in late June and early July.
Stretch Hummer, 16 passengers
The same capacity in white. For weddings, formal occasions and anyone who wants the presence of a stretch Hummer without the pink. It pairs well with the pink one when a group needs two vehicles and wants them to look deliberate rather than like whatever was left.
Hummer H2, 4 passengers
Standard wheelbase, black, registration H25 BAS. Licensed for four passengers plus the driver. This is the one to book when you want a Hummer but not a party bus, a wedding car for the groom, a smaller group, or a second vehicle alongside a stretch. Bold styling and a serious sound system, in something that fits on a normal driveway.
GMC Typhoon Stretch, 8 passengers
Hummer styling in a shorter, more manageable stretch. Eight seats rather than sixteen, which makes it the sensible answer when a stretch Hummer is more vehicle than the group or the route can take.
What hiring a stretch Hummer is actually like
It is a big vehicle. Being straight about that up front saves everyone a difficult conversation on the day.
It will not fit everywhere
A 16-seat stretch Hummer is around thirty feet long, with a turning circle to match. It cannot turn in a cul-de-sac, cannot wait outside a door on a terraced street with cars parked both sides, and cannot get down a single-track lane with passing places. None of that is a problem as long as we know in advance: we agree a collection point on the nearest through road, usually thirty seconds’ walk from where you wanted, and the day runs smoothly. Operators who promise door-to-door at any address have not driven it.
The interior is the product
You spend ten seconds outside the vehicle and two hours inside it. The stretch Hummers have full-length leather bench seating, a bar with glassware, LED lighting you can set, a sound system you can connect to, and a star-lit ceiling. That is what the photographs on the fleet pages show, and it is what people actually remember.
Sixteen seats means sixteen seated
The stretch Hummers are licensed for sixteen seated passengers. That is a legal seating figure, not a suggestion, and we will not carry more. If your group is seventeen, the honest answer is two vehicles or a party bus, and we would rather tell you that at quote stage than on the night.
What is included
A professional chauffeur, fuel, and the vehicle prepared and cleaned. There is no charge for the things some operators bill separately once you have committed.
The paperwork, because in this trade it matters
Limousine hire has a reputation for no-shows, cancelled bookings and vehicles that are not what was advertised. These are the things worth checking of any operator.
Licensed operator
Starlite is licensed through VOSA as a fully legal operator and has held a National Operator’s Licence for 11 years.
COIF certified
Both stretch Hummers are COIF certified, the Certificate of Initial Fitness required for vehicles carrying more than eight passengers.
DBS checked chauffeurs
All Starlite drivers are DBS checked. This matters most for school proms and children’s parties, and we are asked about it often.
We own the fleet
Every Hummer on this page belongs to Starlite and is maintained by Starlite. When you book, you know which vehicle is arriving, because we are the ones driving it.
What people hire the Hummers for
School proms
The single busiest thing we do. Prom season across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire clusters into the last week of June and the first week of July, and the same schools finish on the same evenings every year. Those particular Fridays go first. If your school has a fixed date, book as far ahead as you can, no amount of goodwill creates another Hummer on the night.
Weddings
Usually the white stretch Hummer or the black H2, and often both: the H2 for the groom and groomsmen, the stretch for the bridal party or to move guests between the ceremony and the reception. Weddings need the tightest timings of anything we do, so we quote generously on the outward leg, being early costs nothing and being late costs you the photographs.
Birthdays and nights out
Sixteen people, the lights down and the music up, on the way into town. This is what the pink Hummer was bought for. Groups from our area typically head into Milton Keynes, Northampton, Luton or London.
Hen and stag nights
The pink Hummer for hen nights, near enough without exception. For stag groups it is usually the white stretch or one of the party buses. Either way, tell us the full evening at quote stage rather than adding legs on the night.

Which Hummer
A 16-seat stretch costs more to run than the standard-wheelbase H2. The GMC Typhoon sits between them.
The date
Prom Fridays, summer Saturdays, bank holidays and wedding season are the busiest dates in the year, and they price accordingly.
Distance
The journey itself and the positioning run from our yard at Arlesey. A booking in Luton is a shorter run than one in Kettering, and the quote reflects that.
The shape of the evening
A pick-up, a wait and a return is straightforward. Three separate trips across town on the same night is a different job.

Questions we are asked before people book
How many people fit in a stretch Hummer?
Sixteen seated passengers in either stretch Hummer. That is the licensed seating figure and we do not exceed it. The standard-wheelbase Hummer H2 carries four passengers plus the driver, and the GMC Typhoon stretch carries eight.
How much is it to hire a Hummer?
It depends on the vehicle, the date, group size and the journey. Send your date, postcodes, timings and passenger numbers for an exact price.
Is the pink Hummer the same vehicle as the white one?
No. They are two separate stretched H2s, both licensed for sixteen, and both can be booked for the same day. Groups needing two vehicles often take one of each.
Can the Hummer get to my address?
Usually, but not always. A thirty-foot stretch cannot turn in a cul-de-sac or wait on a narrow terraced street with cars parked both sides. Tell us the pickup postcode when you enquire and we will say plainly whether it works, or suggest a collection point nearby.
Are the Hummers licensed and inspected?
Yes. All Starlite drivers are DBS checked. Starlite is licensed through VOSA as a fully legal operator, both Hummers are COIF certified, and the company has held a National Operator’s Licence for 11 years.
Do you own the Hummers, or is this a booking service?
We own them. Every vehicle is owned, maintained and driven by Starlite, there is no broker in the middle and no third-party operator turning up instead.
How far ahead should I book?
For prom season and summer wedding Saturdays, as far ahead as you can, those dates go first and the fleet is finite. For a midweek booking outside peak season, a couple of weeks is usually enough.
Can I see the vehicle before booking?
Ask when you enquire. We would rather you saw the actual vehicle than a stock photograph of somebody else’s.
