How limo hire works with Starlite
You are booking a specific car from a small fleet, not a slot with a broker who then goes looking for one.
Tell us the journey
Date, pickup postcode, where you are going, how many of you, and what the occasion is. That is enough for a written quote.
We quote on the job
Price depends on the car, the date and the distance, not on a rate card. Fridays in prom season cost more than a wet Tuesday in February.
One booking per car per night
The limo you book is yours for the evening. We do not run two jobs in one car and hope the first one finishes early.
Your chauffeur, in our uniform
Every driver is employed by Starlite and DBS checked. They know the venues and they text you when they are ten minutes away.
Worth knowing before you book
A stretch limo seats eight, and eight means eight
Both our limousines are 8 seaters and that is the legal limit, not a suggestion. If there are ten of you, you want a party bus, and we would rather tell you that now than on the night.
Stretch limos and narrow streets
A stretch limousine is a long car. Some village lanes, multi-storey car parks and tight cul-de-sacs simply will not take one. Give us the pickup postcode and we will tell you honestly whether the car can get to the door or whether you need to walk to the end of the road.
Prom season books early
Peak Fridays and Saturdays in June and July go months in advance, often before Christmas. If your date is fixed, book it; if it is flexible, midweek is both easier and cheaper.
We do not do stag and hen crawls in the limos
The stretch limousines go to weddings, proms, races and airports. For a night that involves several stops and a lot of standing up, the party buses are the right vehicle and everyone has a better time.
The two limousines, and the alternatives

Lincoln Stretch Limo
Eight seats, modern and understated. The one most couples pick for a wedding, and the one that suits an airport run or a race day.

GMC Typhoon Stretch Limo
Eight seats with rather more presence. Classic American limousine styling, and the usual choice for proms and birthdays.

Sixteen of you? A stretch Hummer
Pink or white, sixteen seats, lit bar. More theatre than either limousine and the reason most hen nights ring us.

Or a party bus
Eight, twelve and sixteen seaters. Right when the night has several stops and everyone wants to stand up between them.

Questions about stretch limo hire
How much does limo hire cost?
Hire starts from £295. The final figure depends on the car, the date, the pickup point and how far you are going, so we quote each journey rather than publish a per-vehicle price. Send your date and postcode and you will get a written quote back, not a ballpark.
How many people fit in a stretch limo?
Eight, in both the Lincoln and the GMC Typhoon. For nine to sixteen passengers you want a party bus or a stretch Hummer.
Do you cover my area?
We are based in Arlesey and cover Milton Keynes, Bedford, Luton, Stevenage, Hitchin, St Albans, Northampton, Kettering and the surrounding towns, plus airport runs and London trips from all of them. Ask about anywhere else and we will tell you straight whether it is worth it.
Can we have a drink in the car?
Yes, and there are glasses on board. What is included varies by booking, so ask when you get your quote rather than assuming.
Are the cars actually yours?
Yes. Every vehicle on this site belongs to Starlite and is driven by a Starlite chauffeur. That is why we can show you photographs of the actual car you are getting rather than a manufacturer’s press shot.
What happens if the car breaks down?
We have a fleet, so the honest answer is that we move you into another one and tell you what has happened. A broker cannot do that, because they do not own anything.
