Running a limousine in and around Luton

Luton is one of the closest towns to our yard, which changes what we can sensibly offer here.

Our vehicles are kept at Arlesey, roughly twenty to twenty-five minutes north of Luton on the A507 and A6. That matters more than it sounds. A short positioning run means we can hold a vehicle for a Luton job later in the evening without it being tied up crossing the county first, and it is why we will take late finishes and split pick-ups in Luton that we would think twice about further out.

Where we pick up in Luton

Regular collection points include home addresses across Bramingham, Stopsley, Leagrave, Barton Hills and Bushmead, plus Dunstable and Houghton Regis. In the town centre we use The Mall and the surrounding main roads rather than the tighter one-way sections. Wardown Park and Stockwood Park both work well for photographs before a wedding or a prom, because there is room to stand a long vehicle without blocking anyone.

Luton Airport is not a limousine job in the way people expect

We get asked about London Luton Airport constantly, and it is worth being straight about it. The terminal drop-off is built for taxis and private cars, not for a thirty-foot stretch. For an airport run we will normally agree a meeting point away from the forecourt, or suggest one of our standard-length vehicles instead. If the point of the booking is the arrival photograph rather than the transfer, say so when you enquire and we will plan it around that.

Roads worth knowing about

Junctions 10, 10a and 11 of the M1 all feed Luton, and the choice between them makes a real difference to timing on a Friday evening. Groups heading into London, Milton Keynes or Watford for the night are a large share of what we do here, and we build the route around the M1 rather than the A5. Church Street and the roads either side of the station are the ones we plan around, not through.

Weddings and proms

Luton Hoo is the wedding venue we are asked about most often in this area, and the approach and grounds are comfortable for a stretch limousine. Prom season in Luton and Dunstable clusters into the last week of June and the first week of July, and the same schools finish on the same evenings every year. If your school has a fixed date, book it as far ahead as you can, those particular Fridays go first, and no amount of goodwill creates another Hummer on the night.
