The single thing that decides a Northampton Hummer booking
A thirty-foot stretch cannot turn in a Victorian terraced street with cars parked both sides. That is not a small caveat here, it describes a large part of the town.
Abington, Kingsley, Semilong and Far Cotton are the streets we get asked about most, and in most of them a stretch Hummer physically cannot wait outside a door without blocking the road entirely. What we do instead is agree a collection point on the nearest through road. It is usually thirty seconds’ walk, and it is the difference between a relaxed departure and a driver reversing past twenty parked cars while the whole street watches.
The alternative, and often the better one, is a smaller vehicle. The Hummer H2 carries four plus the driver and fits on a normal terraced street. The GMC Typhoon stretch carries eight and is far more placeable than a full sixteen-seater. Send us the pickup postcode when you enquire and we will tell you honestly which of the four will work, before you book, not on the night.

Nights out
Market Square and the Bridge Street bars, for birthdays and hen nights. Both are fine for a stretch to drop and collect on the main approaches.
Weddings
Delapré Abbey and the surrounding parkland, which has the space for photographs that the town centre does not.
Match days
A Saints fixture at Franklin’s Gardens changes the traffic across the west of the town for a couple of hours either side. If your date coincides with one, tell us and we will build the extra time into the schedule instead of arriving late and apologising.
Further out
Milton Keynes and Birmingham are both straight runs on the M1 and come up regularly for Northampton groups. Billing Aquadrome out at Great Billing is a summer regular.
Roads
Junctions 15, 15A and 16 of the M1 serve different sides of the town, and the A45 ring is usually the sensible way round rather than through the middle. We are around forty-five minutes from Northampton, and that positioning run is built into the quote rather than added afterwards.

Will a stretch Hummer get down my road?
On the Victorian terraced streets, often not. On the newer estates and the main roads, usually yes. Send the postcode with your enquiry and we will check it properly and tell you which of the four Hummers fits, that answer costs you nothing and saves everyone a bad evening.
What if the stretch will not fit?
The Hummer H2 carries four passengers plus the driver and fits where a stretch cannot. The GMC Typhoon carries eight. Between them they cover most Northampton addresses, and neither is a consolation prize.
How long does it take you to get to Northampton?
Around forty-five minutes from our yard at Arlesey. Because of that we prefer to know the full evening in advance, a pick-up, a wait and a return is straightforward; three separate trips across town on the same night is a different job and we would rather price it honestly at the start.
