How a Hertfordshire wedding booking works
Most Hertfordshire weddings need more than one journey: the bridal party to the ceremony, the couple on to the reception, and often guests moved between the two. We plan the whole day as one booking.
- Bridal arrival. Collection from home or the bridal preparation venue, with time allowed for photographs before you leave.
- Groom and groomsmen. A separate car for the groom’s party, collected from home, a hotel or the pub before the ceremony.
- Ceremony to reception. The newlyweds on to the reception venue, with an optional short detour for photographs on the way.
- Guest transport. A 16-seat party bus or stretch Hummer between church, venue and hotel, so nobody has to drive.
What to send for a wedding quote
Your wedding date, the ceremony and reception venues, where the bride and groom are getting ready, how many people need to travel and the rough timings. We will reply with a written quote for the whole day.
Or call 01908 501501 or 07375 567302 to talk it through with the people who own and drive the cars.
Choosing the right car for a Hertfordshire wedding
Lincoln stretch limousine
A traditional long limousine for up to eight. The natural choice for the bride with her father and bridesmaids, or for the couple after the ceremony.

Sixteen seats, so the whole bridal party or the groom’s side travel together and arrive at the same moment, which makes for the better photograph.

For the groom who wants an arrival people talk about: the Hummer H2 seats four, and the Ford Model B hot rod takes a single passenger for a properly memorable entrance.

What every wedding booking includes
- A uniformed chauffeur who stays with the car between journeys when the plan needs it.
- Ribbons in your wedding colours, on request.
- Complimentary bubbly or soft drinks to toast the day.
- Time allowed for photographs at the start, at the ceremony and on arrival at the reception.
- A discount when you book two or more vehicles for the same wedding.
How wedding hire is priced
Each quote is built on the actual day: the number of vehicles, the journeys between venues, how long the cars wait, and the date. Saturdays from May to September book first, so if your date is fixed it is worth enquiring early.
A deposit secures the booking. See the booking policy for details.Wedding transport across Hertfordshire
Arlesey sits on the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire border, so North Hertfordshire is our closest ground and the rest of the county is an easy run.
Where we cover
Hitchin, Letchworth Garden City and Baldock are a few minutes from our yard. Stevenage, Knebworth and Royston are close behind, and we regularly travel to Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Hertford, Ware, Harpenden, St Albans and Bishop’s Stortford. The A1(M) through the middle of the county, and the A505, A602 and A414 across it, are the routes we plan wedding timings around.
Country-house and estate venues
Hertfordshire has a large number of estate and manor venues, such as Knebworth House, Hatfield House, Hanbury Manor near Ware, Fanhams Hall and St Michael’s Manor in St Albans. These usually have long private drives, so the arrival itself becomes part of the photographs. Some have gravel turning circles or narrow gateways that suit one vehicle better than another, which is why we ask for the venue before we quote.
Barn and farm venues
The barn and farm venues in the villages, such as Tewinbury Farm near Welwyn, often sit down narrow lanes. A long stretch vehicle may need to stop at the road and let guests walk the last stretch, so for those venues we may suggest a different vehicle for the final approach. Tell us the venue and we will check the approach in advance rather than on the day.
Church and register office ceremonies
Town-centre churches and register offices in places like Hitchin, Hertford and St Albans have limited room to wait outside. We agree the drop-off and collection point beforehand, then take you on to the reception, with a stop for photographs if you would like one.
Questions about wedding car hire in Hertfordshire
Do you cover my Hertfordshire wedding venue?
We cover the whole county, from Royston and Baldock in the north to St Albans, Hertford and Bishop’s Stortford. Send us the ceremony and reception venues and we will confirm the route and the right vehicle.
Can you take the bride, the groom and the guests?
Yes. You can book two or three vehicles for the same day: a limousine for the bride, a Hummer or the hot rod for the groom, and a party bus for guests. Booking more than one vehicle qualifies for a discount.
Can the car be decorated?
Yes. We dress the cars with ribbons in your wedding colours on request, and complimentary bubbly or soft drinks are included.
How far ahead should we book?
As soon as your date and venues are fixed. Summer Saturdays go first, especially for the stretch Hummer and the Lincoln.
